Civil Society demanded for equitable quality education for all in the Sub-national Consultation on SDG4 held in Noakhali

A consultation meeting held on “Agenda 2030: A New Horizon” regarding the SDG-4 goal of ‘quality education for all’ has been held in Noakhali on Tuesday morning. NRDS with the support of CSEF and CAMPE organize the meeting at a community center in the district.

The Deputy Commissioner of Noakhali Mr. Tanmay Das was present as the chief guest of the meeting. Education researcher Dr. Zia Us Sabur presented the keynote paper.

The speakers demanded implementation of integrated and equitable quality education for all, leaving the government in the role of the driver to achieve the goals of the SDGs. Speakers also called for the adoption of an effective plan based on the opinion of citizens at grassroots level as well as experts in achieving SDG-4 goal of quality education for all.

The meeting was chaired by NRDS Executive Director Abdul Awal. Deputy Program Manager of CAMPE, Mr. Abdul Rauf, former Head of the Bangla department of Noakhali College Mr. Belayet Hossain, Deputy Director of the Department of Non-Formal Education Program Mr. Biddut Ray Bormon, Principal of the Technical Education Institution Eng. Mahtab Uddin Patwary, District Teachers Union President Mr. Abul Kasem spoke at the panel discussion session. Representatives of academics, teachers, students, local government representatives, media activists participated in the consultation meeting.
